Our puppies are chosen based on order of our waitlist but equal treatment does not mean fair treatment all the time so we have devised a way for people who need to be higher on the waitlist in order to ensure the ability to choose the right puppy for them. A priority spot guarantees that they will have the second pick of the litter. (We always reserve the first pick of every litter, though we don't always choose to keep it.)
In the past we have been blessed with larger than breed average litters of healthy puppies and so usually have more puppies than we have reserved spots for but occasionally we have fewer puppies than we have spots on the waitlist when that happens the people who do not end up getting a puppy that litter are offered to move to the next litter list. That would mean that the people already on that waitlist get moved down farther. If you have a Priority spot you would not lose your place in line, the other people would move after you. If you were first on the list for a litter, but not a priority spot and we needed to move people down you would be placed after them in line.
